The most important thing they share in common is appreciation for our environment and the realization that a healthy world means the world to us.

Steve Davis
Appointment Date: January 26, 2009
Term Expires: December 2012
Affiliations:
Sierra Club.
Steve is a long time hiker of the Sierra Nevada and a former science teacher in a Northern California junior high school and a high school in Nevada. Steve formerly owned a solar heating/energy conservation business in Bishop, Ca called The Energy Source. He has conducted workshops on Simple Living and is active in resource conservation.

Affiliations: Watchable Wildlife Inc.-Board Member, CA Roundtable for Recreation Parks & Tourism, Outdoor Writer’s Association of CA, and Sierra Business Council.
Bob owns “Nature Tourism Planning” in Newcastle, Ca. Previously he was an employee of the Ca. Dept. of Fish and Game where he was recognized for his skills in strategic planning, writing, & administration. His understanding of environment, ecology, and education are an invaluable asset to the board.

Robert Ferber
Appointment Date: September 25, 2006
Term Expires: October 2012
Affiliations:
Auburn Presbyterian Church, Auburn Aviation Association, Senior Life Member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Saddleback Homeowners’ Association-President, and Leadership Auburn program for 2007.
Dr. Ferber was formerly a manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. His background and contacts with academia, government, & non-profits bring a needed skill set to the Board.

Mike Berlant
Appointment Date: July 26, 2010
Term Expires: August 2013
Affiliations:
South Placer Seniors Softball Club, Inc.
Mike is an Auburn attorney specializing in wills, trusts, and representation for real estate, auto accidents, and contracts. He offeres much needed advice to the nature center on contracts and other legal matters. He joined the board as he believes the work of the nature center is important for helping to preserve the natural beauty of our local area.

Leslie Warren
Co-Founder and Executive Director Emeritus

Employment Date: October 1991- 2010
Affiliations: Roseville Volunteer Collaborative, Auburn Symphony League, Placer County Arts Council. Leslie is the co-founder and Executive Director Emeritus, an economic development consultant, artist and community volunteer. Leslie's love of nature and passion for linking people and nature, gives her the unique ability to share the mission and purpose of Placer Nature Center with corporations and organizations as well as individuals.

Joanie Mooneyham
Affiliations: Auburn Symphony League and various Real Estate organizations.
Joanie brings to the board her super positive attitude and willingness to work to help the center grow. Her special skill is raising community awareness about the vital role PNC plays in environmental education for children. She loves gardening, music, and sailing, and was formerly a successful realtor in the bay area. She is also a member of the Auburn Symphony League.
